Break the wall. Gaza meets Berlin.

YAAM Berlin was hosting an amazing Breakdance event and asked for a painted Stage backdrop. United arts for peace & Breakdance Masters invited with the help of their partners, the b-boy formation „Camps Breakerz crew“ from Gaza. (Support act b-boy Storm & Flying steps). The entrance was free and every donation will be donated for the construction of dance schools in Gaza. Gaza is widely known as the biggest open air Prison in the world, has a b-boy movement. The crew was Invited to perform in Berlin, but only one member could pass the boarder, the others could only join the event via Livevideo from Gaza.

1.9 million people live in the Gaza Strip, in the harshest conditions, cut off from good education, proper medical care – or even contact with their relatives. With an unemployment rate of around 50 percent, constant undersupply and a growing suicide rate. Medical care is almost non-existent. Those who want to get out have to put up with sometimes absurd conditions and waiting times. But even inside Gaza itself, nothing works without the permission of the leading party. So most teenagers have no possibility to make decisions for the future of them selves.

Check out the social activities of these B-boys from Gaza. The Camps Breakerz crew has its own Website. They also have a Facebook and Instagram account.
